Many nationalities need a Tajikistan visa or e-visa for the Day 3 Seven Lakes trip, and the rules depend on your passport. Please check before you book. Tell us your nationality and we will happily confirm what you need. Bring your passport on Day 3.
Our groups have a maximum of 10 travelers, so you get personal attention from your guide and a friendly atmosphere. Fixed departure dates are listed on the booking page, and a departure is confirmed once enough travelers have joined.
No special fitness is needed. Most of the day is spent in a vehicle with scenic stops and easy walks along the lakes. It is a long day with a border crossing, so wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket. Return to Samarkand is in the evening.
Lunches are part of the itinerary: plov in Samarkand on Day 2, a lunch at the lakes on Day 3 and lunch in Tashkent on Day 4. You also join a welcome dinner on Day 1. Dinners on Day 2 and Day 4 are free evenings, so you can try different restaurants. Your guide is happy to recommend places.
Seven Lakes is at its best from spring to autumn. In winter, snow can close the mountain road. If that happens, we replace Day 3 with a full-day trip to Shahrisabz, Amir Temur’s birthplace, so you never lose a day.
